What did you get in the mail, 2023

Sorry for the double post. Last one was from yesterday.

Got this just a moment ago. Super excited to play with the Kasm from layer infinity.

Technically, it’s not a second childhood because I never grew up.

Thanks again!

It finally came! I didn’t read everything when I bought it, turned out to be a pre order type thing. Worth the wait though. Hopefully it will help me with my finger spins/DNA.

DocPop does it again with another incredible yoyo. Superblack Populist. 7075 plus SS rings, bouncy and playful on the string with tons of stability and spin.

Mail day from Layer Infinity! It’s my third Kasm, the Portal colorway, and new Kasm weights for both of these throws. The Portal colorway was the one that initially caught my eye; I’m grateful I was finally able to pick one up. Thanks @wayne927!

Just to provide a little extra QC, I made sure to drop it on my second throw with the weight attached :joy:. Inspected by @TryCatchThrow stamp of approval!

Edit: full family shot, disassembled so you can see colors.

Also the Kasm weight is really unique. It feels like a thick coin in your hand. I’ve never played a counterweight like it.

Oh I need that Mad magazine for my collection! What issue is it? Or month and year? I’m going to find a copy.:open_mouth:
Never mind I can read it.
And I bought one off eBay $4!

Dang I paid more than that…
Be advised, it is not the in depth reporting you might expect from Mad.

When you get it can you please post readable photos of each yoyo-related page? You can make a topic dedicated to those pages. Thanks in advance!

Awesome glad you’re able to cop it! This is the reason I had to do a throwback colourway. Have fun!!

Came home to a very surprise mail day, little gift from my friend @Xanadu =].

Blackout GBP. Alex said he knew the name was “grunt bitthday party”, but didn’t realize how perfect the artwork would be lol. Super grateful for this gift, its also a ridiculously fun full size throw at 49 grams that plays way above its weight.

In my opinion, the GBP is often underrated. You are most welcome Brandon! Happy Birthday! :tada::yo-yo::birthday::partying_face:

Got a gold NSK concave bearing along with a bunch of strings yesterday. I always thought about getting one, but $20 seemed steep for a bearing… I decided to treat myself. It looks and plays even better than I imagined!

I love that bearing, got one in a BST throw and was surprised how much better it performed imo. much smoother and with a tiny touch of lube - completely silent. I bought 3 more and am looking for more.

Another bst surprise was getting some markmont strings with a throw - they are amazing and last forever. My favorite setup right now is the A-RT D7 with gold nsk bearing and markmont dragon string - its the chef’s kiss. :woman_cook:

was dragon similar to nightmoves or was that draken? cause if you liked nightmoves then you should try out big bang bandalore string theory.

Very much reminds me of Angel Hair string if you were ever lucky enough to try that stuff.

Ive only tried dragon and cumulus/cirrus so far. Id like to try nightmoves and others. i sort of want to horde some

i don’t know what their secret is (material or weave) but this string is way different than anything i’ve used before (yysl, zipline, vines, kitty). It makes some tricks easier. now my vines feel soo cheap :sob:

Nightmoves is pretty unique, slight crunch (Just felt it and it’s not as hard as sting theory) and has a very long break in period before it starts to feel good, it’s almost like playing with fishing wire, but softens as you continue to use it and slacks like nobodies business.

Draken is more similar to Night Moves than Dragon. Dragon is a little thicker, and a little less crunchy.

Thank you for the clarification!
