rose (water? taupe?)
very lovely
Centrifugal by Motion. @JEA86 has outdone himself.
If you make your halves perfectly concentric, a snug bearing is essential.
I have made perfect halves concentric within .0001", but the bearing post was .0005" too small.
Ended up with b-grades.
Good morning,
Look what was waiting for me when I got to work.

I wonder what makes it feel like that?! Looks very rounded and comfortable to hold.
The outer rim is just thin. It’s rounded yeah, but it’s thin enough that it just applies a lot of force onto a small spot of your hand. Instead of having it spread out over a bigger surface area.
If you’ve played a Borealis (either), that yoyo has a similar thin outer rim issue. But I like the yoyo enough in all other aspects to have gotten over it. It’s not a deal breaker or anything.
That makes sense. I def want to try one of these soon
Hi @mable it’s interesting to read about your main issue with the Beater. I can see how the rim might be annoying during 5A but it would otherwise never occur to me since I only do 1A.
Otherwise, the Beater is super comfy in hand like old YoyoJam, as Steve apparently intended. Reminds me of my old Journey.
Just for discussion… I know a lot gets said about organics partly only being good for hand comfort, but for me there is another practical benefit. I’ve got big hands and like chopsticks. So I’m not a big fan of my hands banging into sharp angles throws because that’s more painful and those type of yoyos get more easily knocked off plane with a bump. So I partly like organics in play for that reason, actually. Not just hand-comfort, but accident-comfort, if you will.
All said, just so folks get a more well rounded () view of the Beater, two things are a bit tiring with it: 1) the weight feels great in play and on the string but I definitely feel it on a throw, being related to 2) kickback (I think that’s what it’s called?), where at the end of the throw there’s a decent length of string that unspools very quickly, giving a noticeable “thunk” at the bottom. To be revisited when I set up the Beater with flowable silicone and dial in my bearing choice. Also, maybe I need to change how I throw it so the end of the throw doesn’t feel as aggressive. Hope to get that stuff dialed in because I do love how the Beater is in play… and how it looks.
The Beater and My Beater.
Same dimensions, opposites in play, a very good match imo. The Beater is the most “interesting” feeling throw I have, a really odd addictive feel.
So happy you are enjoying it my friend! Call it whatever you like haha! Some like BatTisai others BattoTi! As long as you are enjoying it, that is all that matters!
I don’t have any problem with your name for the yoyo. If you’ve been following me long enough, I usually take images using mirrors. But I was in a hurry today and I just kind of abbreviated. It took a couple pictures without mirrors and wanted to get it up there, I’ll edit the thing later. Your name is fine. I just wanted to identify exactly what it was short a couple letters.
Excellent yo-yo I should buy a back up but I don’t wanna be a yo-yo hog😂
Positive feedback from you is an honor for us! Very happy that you got one from us. Keep enjoying it and any other feedback you have let us know. Can’t wait to see more pictures when you have time. Thanks again. We really appreciate your support!
Got my Legato II in rose gold. It does have a goldish undertone to it and is one of the nicest looking pinks I have. Looking forward to throwing this around today.
