It’s based off the 000 BTM which is a Titanium-Brass bi-metal, except this time it’s 7068 with a Ti-ring bimetal. Much more affordable than the $545 the 000 BTM retailed for lol.
Okay, so the only part of it that is titanium is the ring. Got it. Seems like a strange product for Luftverk. I thought they dealt exlusively in titanium…
Nope! They do mostly titanium, but collaborated with MagicYoYo for the Skyva, released an Evora TI7075 (similar-ish project to the TI7068s, though w/o a Bi-metal Evora for inspiration), and iirc Jeff is currently working on a new plastic (injection molded?) yo-yo! Jeff also helped with the design of the CLYW Otter and probably/maybe others that I’m not aware of.
Edit: it was bothering me where I heard it, so here it is. 25:00 minutes in. He explains that he designed the First Base and earlier throws for Tyler.
Also can anyone confirm or deny that he designed the Z01 Focus or one of their other bi-metals? this is something I read but I doubt is true since it didn’t come straight from Jeff or MYY.
Koi splash and Lazuli Blue with Bead Blasting SS Rings Vulture.
Selling them over at my bst post - both cool, the blue is stunningly awesome, but not my thing.
It’s like a smaller, more unforgiving unresponsive deep state, kind of brutal a fun challenge, but it wouldn’t be my first choice unless I wanted something very small and challenging.
More to do with its size, it forces you to play very precisely, looking at it you’d think it would play like a deep state but its more sensitive to poor play, it kind of feels like when you play a mini like a tiny yoyo and any little thing will throw it off, it actually has good power and stability for its size, playing it some more and back-to-back with the deep state I do like it its just ruthless.
