What are you spinning?

You might be able to message YYF and ask if they can sell you just the metal tips. I would think they would be cool doing it if they receive them in bulk and then make up their packs themselves.

One more new top. I’m done designing for a bit. Going to spend a small amount of time on a quest to print tips again. Hasn’t worked yet but I can spend a little time on it.

Weather is finally improving, back to the grind. Need to work on Boomerang some more.

Much thanks to @kevinm and @DaneMartin for the help last year

These are dynamite little tops. Undersize, but hefty, they have a small tip but they grip the string securely, so regens are pretty easy. Good stuff.

TPU from @TryCatchThrow

Absolutely love it! Learning sewing machine regens and it’s such a fun one. I’ve 3d printed tops but the TPU is my new favorite material. It just feels great and I love how bouncy it is. Someone else said the same thing but man is it way quieter than my short circuit:joy: I can get bearing finger spins, but does anyone have advice for fixed finger spins?

Here’s another one I printed myself. Out of PLA. Short circuit tip in it. Does not spin for long and I think it’s only about 30 grams without the tip lol. Coincidentally made it a great size to fit a bottle cap button though. After @TryCatchThrow sent me his top, I loved his idea of a way to print with no outside supports. This was a trial there.

Strong boomerang, hop the top towards your fingertip as close as you can get it, and gently nudge it with your thumb tip. It helps if your skin is all wrinkly and dried out.

Finally learned to make string. Here’s the top again from @TryCatchThrow . The string I made is not bad! Super cheap to do too. Followed Dylan Kowalski’s tutorial on YouTube. Easter themed a bit as well

Looks good!

Do you suggest a dip in Alum for that??

Looks good. String making is definitely fun and I have made a few. Now, I buy all my top strings from dazzling Dave - years of making them, he’s got it down to a science.

Not at this time.

Spintastics QuickSilvers today. Won the Neffy modded blue one at MoYo 14 years ago. Never messed with it much because it had a bearing tip, but putting a fixed diabolo tip in it made it super awesome!

I’m spinning my prototype spintop string maker.

Inspired by Neff’s K’Nex design.

Late to the party…. Someone mentioned throwing large tops and the string doesn’t unwind, it just falls off. Maybe this can help. I’m sure I missed plenty having only 60 seconds but maybe it’ll help.
