What are you spinning?

So I’m very new to spintops actually today being my first day. But I’m finding it kind of weird that I like spin tops more than I like yoyo’s. I’m actually having more fun with the spin top than I am with yoyo’s. I was able to get my spin top to spin on the ground. Perfect! And I was able to pop it into my hand and hold it.

Don’t get me wrong. Yo-yos are cool but I’m not feeling it like I’m feeling the spin top

Wow, I’ve only ever caught one spinning once! Thats awesome!!

I didn’t catch it so as it was spinning on the ground you can open your ring finger and your middle finger and you can actually pop the spin top in your palm and hold it.

I did accidentally somehow throw the spin top and it bounced off the ground. Flew about 8 ft in the air and I caught it in my hand. That’s the only time I’ve ever got it in my hand from the air. But I’m enjoying the heck out of spin tops. I kind of want more so I’m trying to do some research

What are you “spinning?” Oh…

Spinning is basically synonymous with Rolling.

The confusion is understandable

Is your head spinning?

What?? Keep Their Heads Ringing??

The plan is to synchronize my head with the top so it appears to stand still. As many times as I’ve seen that logo, it’s a wonder it’s taken me so long to buy a top.

Definitely have to get a TOP top someday.

Woahh, that’d be rad. Are they actually around or is that a render? Looks dusty and smudged so I’m hoping they are actually available

Are you asking if the top above is available? The red and blue one.

Wow, I never noticed the logo was an actual top. I think my grandmother used to use those for her cigs. Maybe it was Bugler though. I remember seeing those at someone’s house when I was a kid in the 70s.

Not the best tasting, tbh. But they’re the cheapest at under $4 for a book of 100, and easy to use. Hadn’t seen the TOP branded tobacco in a while, but I remember it being decent.

Yep. Gotta get me one of those. Wouldn’t mind having a red/white/blue yo yo as well, for that matter.

I was up way too late experimenting with the Love… Had to’ve tried that stiff-armed, skipping stones motion over 20 times with the tip facing various directions. It landed on either the side or top every time… Then in my desperation I tried out some other throwing motions that felt natural. Bowling ball throw with the palm up. Landed perfectly on its top. Then tried palm down like throwing a forward pass. Success! I may be picking up some bad habits, but I’m consistently getting it to land tip down. Working on aim and playing around nudging it straight with my finger. Want to try manipulating it with the string some today and try getting it up into my hand. Fun stuff!

So I have to be honest, I’m not a big fan of the yoyo factory. Spintops I just don’t like them. I really don’t like the thin string that they use. I don’t like the shape of them. I don’t like how cheap they feel. I’m sorry it’s just my opinion.

Ever since I got my cobras I have not been able to put them down. Fantastic. They got a great feel. They’re very high quality. I love the thick string. I love how they throw literally three jumbo Cobra for $15 are amazing.

I have not put the Cobra down since I got them

The “bad habits” you refer to may never cause you problems when throwing to the ground but when you transfer to boomerang, that’s when it’ll likely be problematic.
