My fridge stopped working yesterday. Ugh. This morning I went and talked to the guy who does all the maintenance and nice landscaping at my apartment complex. He came in to check out the fridge and saw my table with about 15 yoyos on it. He then told me in 1999 he used to have a yoyo and it went everywhere with him. He told me he used to be able to do a few tricks including one where it goes over the shoulder (pop the clutch?). He asked me if I was a “secret yoyo master.” Uh, no, I responded. I told him around 1999 people started modding yoyos to make them less responsive and picked up my Silenus to show him how it doesn’t pop up. Thankfully the short combo I showed him was NOT a fail. He replaced my fridge. I then a dug out a YYT Fizz and a still in the blister pack YYF Plus and got 3 Kitty strings and put it all in ziploc bag. I went outside to where he was putting mulch down around some shrubs and told him I had some yoyos for him. He seemed pretty happy, thankful, and interested. He has a family and is always busy so I’ll wait a week before I ask him if he or his kids tried the yoyos. In the meantime I will figure out which unresponsive yoyo I will give him if he seems to want to get into the hobby. I would LOVE to teach him to bind and get into split bottom mount. In-person teaching can eliminate HOURS of video tutorial time.
These sorts of little person-to-person moments are the best in yoyoing.
I would LOVE to teach someone what I know. I’m low level intermediate. I could teach someone in 10 minutes what took me a month to figure out.
Ooooo delicious. I’m about to make some homemade Mac and cheese myself.

how’d it turn out? also do you enjoy kneading dough? my brother and i think it’s one of the best parts of bread.
It turned out great, one of my daughters ate 3 slices already.

I made a starter with unbleached AP flour.
I didn’t realize there where so many bread makers. My father has a starter going that he feeds and treats like a pet, it’s old. He misses delicious bread. I think he thinks i want it as my inheritance

Went to Wallyworld to get some stuff for the week - first time out to the store since this weekend’s loot-fest, saw the left-over barricades the store had set up…sad times. Anywho, attempted to pick up Clubhouse Games for Switch as it was on the store shelves but ended up that despite it being on the shelf, their system would not let the sale happen. Ended up buying it on the e-shop instead once 9pm hit so I can still “play it a day early”.
While I was out and waiting, I was fooling around with my 66 Shutter when an older lady comes up, thinking what I was doing was cool but had no idea what I was playing with. I stopped throwing and showed her the yoyo. She was amazed and had me show her some more of my tricks. At that moment, I was messing with some chopsticks stuff.
When I got home, decided to further mess with chopsticks and learned the trick “Wax on Wax off”…very flowy if I pull it off right.
I also helped my sister-in-law swap the shells on her Switch joycon…we both had no idea what we were getting ourselves into but what can I say…I now know how to disassemble and reassemble a joycon…those ribbon cables though are such a pain.
Now to listen to the police scanner. Sadly, that’s been the norm all week after a rather scary Monday morning when everything went to chaos (right down to some looters wandering my street).

although i do like it when people who barely know what a yoyo is approach me and ask about it.
