I regretfully caught this little bird in a rat trap recently… 
Instead of just throwing him in the trash I decided I would try to respectfully taxidermy him and have him live on in my display cabinet. This was my first time; I learned a lot. I put all the traps away until I can ensure I only get rats.

I used to do that. J. Elwood School of Taxidermy (mail order) and a 4 day class at the local science museum. Did a couple of pigeons and sparrows. Had a fox hide in the freezer until my mother got tired of it. Still have a good supply of eyes and other stuff.

That’s awesome! I’d love to do a larger bird someday. This little guy was hard because he was so small and delicate.

So it’s Yuna’s birthday today. 
My younger sister and my brother-in-law, now living in Austria sent her this video today as they can’t travel to visit during lockdown.
