Just spent 4 hours working on my friend’s computer. lol what a pain!
I don’t mind working on computers…I’m no computer genius, but I’m pretty tech savy and can typically get a computer to do what I want it to do…
But I just don’t like when people are hovering over me the whole time like she was.
Ah well…everything worked out and she’s very happy…so I’m glad I could help!
Yep, know the feeling well. I worked high level tech support for a major medical manufacturer here. All of the production floor depended on the computer system, w/o it everything stopped. Got called in about 1:00 AM one nite. Within a half hour there’s 2 VPs and various managers hanging over my shoulder asking questions as I’m trying to diagnose the issue. Finally one of the VPs asks how long until it’s fixed. I turned to him and said that I could probably have things resolved in a half hour if I didn’t have to answer all of their questions, otherwise it was going to be considerably longer. I added that I would be glad to give them a full report when I was done. At that point they all left. I fixed the problem 15 minutes later.
Good idea! No natteries, no charging, no internet connection needed, no joysticks, no headsets…just people sitting around a table and playing a game while talking, laughing and probably flipping the game board a few times.
A senior tech I used to work with would always answer 45 minutes to fix it. After folks get mad and say, “you said that hours ago!” he would explain to them he always says 45 minutes and it’s bound to be right eventually. That usually worked after he got the people trained.
And Sorry! is one of those games that’s prone to a non thick-skinned person to rage quit and send pawns flying across the room (or if you’re like me, plotting revenge is the key to success)
Got any sweet riptricks? I am super impressed by even the most simple skateboard tricks done on a ripstick. The best I could do was manuals and nose manuals. My friend could do kickflips, sometimes lol.
The mini is alot harder for tricks. With practice you can get manuals down. My buddy always used the air pro. They are superlight in comparison to the other models but still long. Pricey though.
This morning was a rough one and another reason why I’m ready to start that 2020 calendar bonfire when 2021 hits (as this year has done nothing but horrible to everyone).
Took one of our cats in this morning as she had stopped eating/eliminating, thought she may have been backed up. After an x-ray, found out the situation just got a whole lot worse and ultimately would have to be put down as the surgery was such high risk, chance of getting through this would be minimal. Cat was as sweet as can be, saying goodbye and final moments of petting her (and getting her motor going) was absolutely hard even if it was a proper goodbye. May she rest in peace…
At least she will no longer be suffering but she will be missed greatly as she was part of the family.
I’m sorry. I was with Joshua on March 18, 2013 during his last moments at the vet and it was the hardest thing I’ve been through in my entire life. He was “my good baby, Joshua.” I said that to him all the time. 7 years later and I tear up at the thought of him.
