that thing looks like more fun then yoyos, which is saying a lot.
Looks like you could use that thing to drill yoyos and mod them for side effects.
Today, I am lamenting our fear-mongering overreactive authorities, our opportunistic profiteering corporations, and our uneducated population that is causing great turmoil from misinformation and herd mentality. Stop excessively buying up water, canned goods, sanitation supplies, and medical supplies. I mean unless you’re trying to waste money and cause nationwide shortages. If so, then go right ahead. For anyone who understands medicine and microbiology and physiology even a minute amount, you would know that unless you’re immunocompromised you have nothing to fear, except hair-brained boneheaded people (who are, sadly, very dangerous). So I guess, really today, I’m ranting. At least gas prices are going down.
Funny you mention that… Yoyos are definately a big motivation to get this operational.
And the traffic has been light… Seriously though. I was just going to buy 1 bottle of sanitizer to have at my desk at work… That isn’t happening as they seem to be selling out faster than a rare yoyo drop.
Now I’m curious what will be happening with the work place as I work at a theme park. We were supposed to open for the season next weekend but delayed till April 4. As of right now I’m still coming on for work as planned (I do a lot of behind the scenes stuff) but we shall see. Seems like our nation is slowly a shutting down.
I take all the shields of my bearings, I don’t know why but I think I do it because in my mind it seems that they will spin more freely
Yeah I use most of my bearings without shields, but I don’t bother removing the shields unless they need to be cleaned.
what is your skate broad set up, I won’t to get a revive deck with force wheels and then what ever trucks I can find cheap
Hey @jasonwongzero…any new photos of the tank for us?
How’s Mr. Clown Fish doing?
I do that it’s for ease of cleaning.
So here we go…
I have “really” skated since 2003 or 05 ish I forget which. I just cruise every once in a while now.
I think I bought this setup in 02 or 03. It’s what’s left of some Spitfire wheels ( the ones where the 2 heads on the side kinda made a yin yang), deck is by Habitat. Bones chinabone bearings, lucky risers and hardware. The trucks were actually the prerelease of the first set of Tensors trucks. They have this extra piece of plastic at the front that’s supposed to help with nose/tail slides.
Today has been an interesting one with lots of uncertainty…I work for a theme park in the Cedar Fair chain of parks. Woke up to the news that all Cedar Fair properties are postponing operation till April 4. That said, been wondering how my work schedule would be affected and our entire dept left in limbo as we wait for new information to unfold. Still don’t have all of my answers but found out I will still have hours, just limited… I guess it’s better than nothing at all.
Day off today so a lazy Friday aside from getting in contact with my coworkers, worked on a few yoyo tricks.
Wanted to add as the day is still going - witnessed some of this madness myself for the first time as I just saw things on Facebook regarding the hoarding. It’s real. I watched some brilliant one hoarding 40 gallons-worth of gas earlier (filling up 8 of their 5-gallon containers in the back of their prius) as well as seeing barren store shelves and somebody walking along with a cart full of several cases of water. I went in to seek 1 single bottle of sanitizer I can have on my desk at work to no avail as that shelf was wiped clean. Rest of this afternoon is spent pondering humanity as basic toiletries are flying off the shelves faster than a rare/limited run yoyo drop.
Hope things turn out for you and everyone else in your department (and everyone who works at the park for that matter).
Hopefully they don’t cut so many hours that you end up struggling to make ends meet in April.
Small update on that, I do have hours…reduced but better than absolutely none at all…after a couple weeks, I’ll be back to normal so for now, here’s to 2 4-day weekends coming up
Haircut, posting yos, grocery shopping, cooking 2 minute noodles and making a couple of yos.
Hi! Sorry it’s been kinda crazy so I’ve been a little quiet on the forums. Tank is doing great. I got a ton of new coral frags and now they are just growing out. (Basically it’s like having little coral seeds. :P)
Taking photos of the aquarium is not easy. The corals flouresce until certain wavelengths of blue light that camera sensors don’t like. Been playing with color temperature and yellow filters to more accurately capture the color. These are pretty representative of what the corals look like with the lights on:
The photos that you take are stunning!
Thanks for the update! I love this tank so much!
is there a certain type of glue for the PVC piping that needs to be used?
kgb
You use just normal PVC glue and primer from home depot. I made it a point to use the clear stuff though because I wanted the red plumbing to look clean with no glue drips.
Once the PVC has dried it is suitable for potable human use which is good enough for the reef tank.
