Ach! Not yet! I guess you should just stay inside and drink hot cocoa.
I’m jealous.
Please feel free to come and get it…
That’s one heck of an expensive yoyo stand maker!
It’s something simple, but one of the custom stands you made me last year with “Love you mom” etched on to it is one of my favorite things in my whole collection.
My AL7 Banshee is proudly perched up on the cool green 3d printed stand you made me as well!
Took Buddy to the vet today. He has some minor health issues. I could tell he lost some weight and his appetite was off. He’s bouncing back and his appetite is back and he was given antibiotics for a dental issue.
Had a new patient last week. When he noticed my yoyo display he lost his mind. Talk about flash backs he wasted 10 min of his apt telling ME about his yoyo tricks (walk the dog, atw, and rock the baby) from his adolescents. Apparently he found his yoyo a few weeks back and was teaching his 5yo to throw… i had a plastic yeti, so i taught him how to bind, and i showed him the yoyo expert tutorial page. He came in today, showed me his bind and cradel. Then he asked me if i had anorher yoyo to sell him for his son. I told him to give his son the yeti and i gave him Dove. I then told him to learn Braintwister by next week or i raise his rates.
This is the 3rd patient I’ve gifted a yoyo to and i know 2 of the patients are actually using them.
@AKYOYOMIKE so cool man!
I love spreading the YO!
About a month ago or so i learned of a kid named Jack. I first spotted him on the monkey bars hanging by one hand and throwing loops with the other! I had fatherly duties at the time and by the time i tried to find him he was gone…
… but I’ve been stalking a 10 year old kid since then! Probably should think about my wording.
Today i met Jack &his DAD (im not insane! ). Jack was throwing a Wedge. I asked where he learned his tricks and he said from YoYoExpert.com tutorials.
It was awesome! I taught him houdini mount and told him to learn Kamikaze. I tried to teach it to him but fatherly duties got in the way. We attracted a crowd, fortunately i had 7 yoyos on me, i think that’s normal for a park run. DON’T JUDGE ME! I didn’t take any pics since Jake was the oldest thrower. But there where 5 kids learning to throw, and Jack!
I had my Edge (not even close to mint) on me, so i leant it to Jack and told him to return it whenever he’s ready.
One of the best park days this year.
Wow! That’s an awesome story! Throwing loops while hanging from monkey bars??!!? Now that’s a video I want to see! I thought I was insane to bring THREE yoyos to work and you bring SEVEN to the park. Hopefully the kids can join you next yoyo club meet up!!!
Another Saturday in October, and another gig for me!!!
Headed to Spring Branch, TX to do a performance at a haunted hayride.
Went to go pick up meds before it snows too much here in my town…and the pharmacist asked about my Duncan hat. Told him it’s a toy company and he lit up a bit and told me about how he use to love his yoyo as a kid. Told me he knew quite a few of the simple stuff though he couldn’t remember any of the names. I riddled off a few (rock the baby, man on the flying trapeze, walk the dog) and I could see the sparkle in his eyes and he was having fond memories!
I told him it’s quite a bit more advanced these days and that he should youtube search it…and he told me he has and he’s amazed at what can be done now…that he bought himself a yoyo a few years back, but got frustrated real quick with it and has moved on.
So now I now what he’s getting for christmas I’ll include a bunch of strings for him and type up a short note with a few websites for him to visit (including this one of course), a glove, pouch and some other little goodies.
He wants me to bring in a throw to show him some tricks…but meh, I’m so freaking shy in the public! But who knows? Maybe if he had someone in town to throw with he’d stick with it this time?
Fun stuff man!!
Hope you’ll come back and tell us all about it
