I wanted to know if anyone else has done this…I popped the caps out(x-convict) and melted candles into the sides as much as I could I popped the caps back in and it added soooo much weight…so has anyone else done this?
I could see that working but not working @ the same time. It may add some weight but if you don’t have the exact same amount on both sides it could make your yoyo unstable, causing it to tilt. But hay, if it works for you, more power to ya ;D
Doesn’t sound like a good idea as noted above. If you want to add weight you could put some fat o-rings or a ring of #10 solid core solder under the caps.
I thought this was going to be about waxing your string. 
Even that I think is a bad idea. I never liked how it played after my string was waxed…but hay, to each their own.
I used the same amount of tea candles(2) in each side so far no vibe or tilt… ;D
It was a useless mod on wood axles. but if you where playing a steel fixed axle the wax trick not only made the string last longer but also made the yoyo play more like a 1A yoyo.
