I actually got into watches because I noticed that while I was using my phone to tell the time, I would kind of fall into it and start checking my notifications and stuff. Having a dedicated time piece is really stopping me from staring into the abyss all day lol

I find myself plagued by phone induced stress, I enjoy not having notifications attached to my body. I do however think smartwatches are very cool technology, pretty amazing what they can do really. I don’t think I’ll ever use one though

Got this for the big 18. A great automatic watch with a reliable (Citizen) Japanese movement. I keep it in a winder and it keeps time well after 5+ years.

I’m a Steve McQueen fan.
So on the 7th day, of the Seventh Month, of Year 2007, I purchased a Tag Heuer Monaco as a symbol of my success. Absolutely LOVE the scratch proof sapphire crystal. Have worn it almost every day since. I don’t like being a slave to my phone for time awareness, but do aspire to get a new TAG Heuer smart watch to enhance being able to tell time in total darkness.

That’s a seagull ST3600, I modified the train bridge to “show off” the gears and just experiment a bit.

I’m super into watches. Love interesting designs especially, moreso than the lineage/historical/classic aspects.
I’ve sold more rare yo-yos to fund watches than I care to admit.
My favorites are 60s/70s racing chronos and 80s retrofuture style watches.
Have are my favorites that I own. (Other peoples’ photos.)
I also love my Jeff Pang ITEM watches. I have a couple of them - wore them so much the leather straps broke off. Need to DIY fix them.

I knew there’d be a watch thread buried somewhere in these forums!
After years of smart watches (pebble, many Fitbits, and a Garmin instinct solar) I finally got my first “grown-up” watch.
Story time… My father in-law tragically and unexpectedly passed away a few weeks ago. I was very close to him and I wound up with a few of his old automatic watches and a watch repair kit. The automatic watches were a bit bulky for me to wear daily, but I was able to use the repair kit to fix them up, and that really sent me down the watch rabbit hole.
Funnily enough, taking apart and reassembling a dive watch bezel reminded me of cleaning my yo-yo bearings 
My FIL loved his blue Omega seamasters, so I figured I would get a watch with a blue dial as an homage to him. I also wanted to combine some of my interests into a new watch. I’ve been getting into ham radio lately, so when I found out about radio controlled atomic watches I knew that was what I wanted.
This is a Seiko SBTM321, what drew me to it is the blue dial, radio control, and solar powered movement. I imported it straight from Japan myself and I have been loving it!
I’m still looking at other watches as I’d like one with a black dial too, but for now I’ll be sticking with blue and thinking about how much I miss my father in-law. I really wish he could hear me rant about my newfound opinions on how automatic watches are ridiculous because they are the most expensive and least accurate timepieces you can own
