Unpopular Yoyo Opinions

Yea, like comic books… I mean they are made to be read…

I have no qualms with damaging a fresh yoyo if its either somewhat cheap or I’m not expecting to sell it. If I wanna walk the dog I’m gonna walk the dog. Of course I’m not gonna abuse an Alu yoyo on concrete though, I wouldn’t want those mad nasty marks.

But if I wanna play outside over concrete imma do it. If I wanna play 3a I’m gonna play 3a.

I am careful with most my yoyos because I expect to flip them eventually and wouldn’t want to depreciate the value as @vegabomb stated.

But come on bro… first Ti, it’s the cheapest Ti, I wouldnt be expecting to sell it anytime soon. That shiz is getting sparked :joy: obligatory

Just look at @eternalmetal’s picture. I actually couldn’t tell it was sparked at first and was confused

Collections as investments are lame imo. I grew up with my parents collecting coins and stamps and buying lotto tickets and beanie babies, etc, and when it all comes down to it, you arent making money on this stuff. I can make $140 in a few hours, why the hell should I care if I can sell it for the same 5 years later? Is this really a hobby where you can be lucrative? This yoyo will never be worth the same money as a vintage comic book in mint shape. Dont be silly.

You know what? I think you just changed my mind. I never thought about it like this. I think I’ll wait till tonight and record a vid of me sparking my TV.

And you were the one telling me to use the “/s” when expressing sarcasm :stuck_out_tongue:

Next, you’ll be telling me that action figures should be played with.

You couldn’t have picked a better skit to express my feeling about this. I may be nerdy, but god damn shoot me when I start collecting MIB stuff for display in hopes to sell it some day. Some people just take this stuff too seriously.

Well then you need to change your answer to the $50 question. :man_shrugging:

If it was $50 more though it wouldn’t be the cheapest Ti anymore!

Also comics aren’t generally worth much either. Only very, very specific issues are worth anything at all. Same with any tcg outside of MtG. No your base set Pokémon cards aren’t worth anything.

My friend owns a comic book/mtg store and so many people are blown away when they bring their old Pokémon cards and are offered 6 cents per card. That and people who he just refuses to take their comics because they aren’t worth taking up the inventory space.

Who said investment? It’s a very real thing that lots and lots of people resell their yoyos. There’s a whole board right on this forum dedicated to it.

Does this not imply investment at all? I didn’t buy it with the intent to maintain resell price. Lots of people resell yoyos, but I don’t. I thought we were in the Unpopular opinions thread? Im willing to bet you arent the only one thinking im a jackass for sparking my Vayder on day one. I don’t care, which is why I bought two. I am going to make sure to maintain the other as best I can, but mostly for my enjoyment, not for how much I can get for it on the BST.

I for one don’t care if anyone sparks their TiVayder. Why would I care?

I do have a some-what sought after single digit one though

Aw, hey man no hard feelings. I certainly wasn’t implying anything like this. We’re just having a playful back and forth.

I personally couldn’t care less about what you do with your stuff. You do you man
