Yo I was DM’d about learning rejections and compiled a list of easier tricks to help learn and understand rejections. It’s kind of a good sequence of tricks to learn and I want to share it here also so other people that are stumbling with rejections can understand them better and not be intimidated. I was intimidated when I first started learning tricks with rejections because I simply didn’t understand them and was trying more advanced tricks instead of starting with the simplest rejections.
The basis of rejections is that you are pushing the string into the wall of the yoyo and letting the spin of the yoyo push the string out of the gap. This is a simple trick that I thinks teach that concept clearly.
This is another trick where you can focus on getting the rejection but don’t need to worry about catching the yoyo.
This one also doesn’t have you catch the yoyo with the rejected string but requires you need to be conscious of plane control so the string hits the gap.
This one is a good place to start for rejecting the string and then catching the yoyo.
Also check out this trick for another method for getting the string to reject and catch the yoyo.
Finally, I must include magic drop. It was the first rejection I learned and imo the hardest to understand of the bunch. Even though Joo say’s it’s bad, I’m using this tut because I have seen @IoSonoFormaggio 's tutorial help multiple people learn the trick when other tutorials hadn’t.
The same concepts apply to all of these, push the string into the wall of the yoyo, but use different methods to do that. Get these tricks down and y’all will have a good understanding of how rejections work. Let me know if y’all get stuck or if anyone has any questions. Have fun y’all!
@GTDropKnot rejections are so difficult for me. One of those things I haven’t got down yet. Magic drop I can do it 100% and understand it no
Problem. But, other rejection tricks are so difficult
me too, I’m the one that messaged him. i can do magic drop fine, just like you, cuz that to me feels more automatic. beyond that I’ve been lost. so now it’s time to practice gettin dumped
Honestly all of these seem a little tricky… I’m working on the one out of the sub mount… where you use your thumbs to reject the string and then have the slack come
Off and go around onto the yoyo
Here’s a breakdown of the first trick. I tried to point out the steps as clear as possible. If you can do trapeze you can probably do this trick.
Grip string with middle ring and pinky
Slide hand under the string
Point nth index towards th and grab and pull apart with th
Pinch string with nth and pull th back to reject
You can use nth pinky so the crossed bit of string doesn’t fall too far down
Move the slack into the gap
Release pinch to reveal tower
Untwist nth index and grab sting and pull apart
Pinch with nth and release th index to let the slack fall towards yourself
Swoop string coming from th in front of the yoyo and release to drop the yoyo into a gt
