Some of my favorite yoyos and I don’t hear much about them in my internet travels. That might be because I don’t read everything out there so it’s limited to what I have seen.
Chico Bulldog - great shape and super smooth
RecRev i - great weight, shape and performance
OneDrop Y-Factor - it’s like throwing a circular-shaped cloud
ILYY Sakura - my hands down favorite ILYY and may be my favorite yoyo even though I don’t like purple much
String Theory YoYos - Remnant 2 - this yoyo has an amazing feel and just spins forever
God-tricks Cyclone and Yoyofficer Brave. Top playing yo-yos, for price around 50$. Just because they come from China, some people completly ingores them.
The yoyofactory protege has near no recognition on forums or on YouTube. It was my first high-er end throw and I still love it to this day. I think it was $65 way back when, and I will never get rid of this thing. Maybe it’s sentimental but I think if you can get your hands on one do it!
I’m going for the NVx. Still available, but rarely heard of these days. Good price now too, as it’s knocking on a bit. Smooth, and as stable as a 36 legged table.
It definitely seems to be the case that a single bad throw can be truly detrimental to a manufacturer - rightly so I suppose for those who sink a considerable amount of money into a single throw. Equally, only producing more contemporary shapes seems to potentially be a bad idea too, I love my LaGoutte but I think a lot of people are nervous based on the wide and interesting shapes of XCube’s other throws.
They weren’t discontinued I don’t think. I am pretty sure they were a limited run. Just used to raise funds for the “protege team.” I don’t know I could be wrong.
I think that the BvM’s are underrated. Ik, it gets a lot of hype just because it is a CLYW, but it is commonly thought of as alongside the Marmot to be the worst CLYW throw to date, and i highly disagree. i think that the BvM is a top 5 CLYW throw.
I think the yyf whip is very good and the od 54 why isn’t everyone talking bout this yoyo I think it’s the best throw u Dan buy for under 100 bucks. It is so light and smooth with great spin times and plays fast but controllable
