Unboxing YoYoFactory Adjust-O-Matic

The Adjust-O-Matic is an aluminium “H” shaped yoyo with 65.2g, 56.40mm diameter and 35mm wide. Has a size A bearing and was released in 2009. I have too many photos, so, click on slideshow if you want more:

So, this yoyo was released in 2009, I think it was not very popular, it was really hard to find a decent review for this model. After using a Speed Dial and trying to get more info about it, I found the description of AOM and thought that it would fit my needs of having a yoyo to carry around that would let me do basic tricks for fun (or to impress or teach someone) and to learn/improve modern tricks. I was right, the Speed Dial is way too light and after buying the AOM it became instantly my favorite yoyo!

Slideshow G5 vs AOM

^ You can see on this slideshow that the design is really similar to G5. The “H” shape fits my style and it’s really smooth. The dials don’t apear to be very precise, however, once you set up, it will stay that way. The bearing is really small, my first try on A bearings was strange because I started to do modern tricks with C bearings. I just needed some time and now it’s pretty natural to use.

Slideshow AOM Red

^ “You meet the nicest people on a Honda” while tracking a yoyo. Trying to get a second AOM (really hard to find you know??) and more information about it, I contacted Benjamin. He really is one of the nicest guys I had the pleasure to exchange words, he found an unmarked AOM and sent me! I still can’t thank him enough because I love AOM in red (my favorite color on yoyos) and that’s the one I have being throwing all day, all night.

Please note that:

  • This is my favorite yoyo. You might dislike starbursts, “H” shapes and YYF. I really don’t care! Consider that I might not like your yoyos but I don’t track your topics/posts to talk **** about them. There are yoyos that fit your style, this one fits mine so, respect it please.

Enjoy the photos. 8)

Nice review! To bad they don’t make em’.

I think it also the 401k is compatible with the velocity dial response things.

Thank you. 8) Yeah, I’m trying to get some more but it’s not easy. As a collector I’m trying to get all colors.

I’ll answer that if I get a 401k someday. ;D

hey I found a 401k for sale

I know, but

Thanx anyway.

The 401k has different shuttles (and a different dial system) than the Velocity and the Adjust-O-Matic. the old “-k” parts are threaded the opposite way than the “-sd” system used by the Velocity, Speed Dial, and the Adjust-O-Matic.

I made a bunch of tricks and my favorite videos using the 2009 “bubble rimmed” G5’s, and these are the same shape fitted with a small bearing and starbursts. It will always have a place in my tool box.

Thank you theOldestCraze 8)

I have seen that video before, great job! Do you still have it?

No it was part of a video that never was finished called “yoyofactory around the world” where we sent a yoyofactory around to people in lots of countries. But sadly someone got it and kept it and it was never finished. Some time after that I released my part as an independent video. So I don’t have it any more. I sent it on its way about 3 weeks after I got it.

Oh, so that’s what the “project” was! Too bad it never got finished. :frowning:

Replaced the dials of the AOM black:
