Another thing you can try if you have the problem again is to place a cloth over the bearing THEN use the pliers to remove it. The cloth can give extra grip and also help protect the bearing.
I used a rubber bracelet then a rubber glove last time.
Maybe use a penetrating lubebricant before removing a stuck bearing can help?
