Only reason why I used troll was because the videos said he was. I didn’t know it was a joke. Now it seems funny ;).
Thanks to everyone for defining who he is and what he did :).

offstring-stewart:Guys, you know he knew he was joking…the guy did it way back in the day. it’s late 90.s early 21st century what he did.
Y’all fail to realize the yoyo’s we have today, weren’t really the same back when he did this joke. He knew it was a joke, if I remember correctly, the whole thing was.
Hendy:The guy probably didn’t even know that people like us existed.
I am pretty sure you weren’t yo-ing back in that time. I wasn’t even. Josh Yee was. Yo-ing was not the same. In the 90’s and early 21st century, there were quite some jokes from Non-yoers and the News. It’s because it was cool. The news stations don’t even recognize we exist anymore, and that’s bad imo. JD was the big start of the mass of today’s tricks we use in comps a lot (He wasn’t the only one, but he was a big leap). This thread in general seems…pointless, only because a lot for y’all don’t know the whole story. He wasn’t a troll (Term wasn’t even existent with that usage then. And y’all are misusing it in modern terms, too.) He never insulted people, nor was he trying to. It’s so odd, talking bout him again, since that was partly my first step into the yo-yo world, believe it or not. I never took him seriously, but that’s kind of what started my interest in them like I am now.

Good, cause he did everything. Even give birth to a cute innocent alien life form. Oh wait, that was John Hurt. NVM
Old as heck but this guy is on The Office sometimes.

This happened in 2009 or 2010. Not in the late 90’s. It was comic genius.

I can’t seem to believe that…Then why was their camera quality so close to those of the early 21st century? Still, it is comic genius.

There is a pretty funny video with Kenny Strasser and Eric Stringer (who looks an awful lot like Steve Brown ;)) out there. I’ll see if I can find it.
Edit - It’s from 5/18/09. Here it is:

You’re right, I wasn’t. I was saying he probably didn’t know that there were actually people dedicated to yoyoing, so I doubt he was intentionally mocking us. I agree this thread should die but I don’t really like being misunderstood.

so looks like Steve Brown with a wig…

Oh my bad, I didn’t know about this “Eric Stringer” fellow. I thought we were talking about Kenny haha.
That’s funny though, glad you said something…
Eric Stringer, who bills himself as the “Garth Brooks of yo-yos.”
LOL
Ok, it’s official now. Elephark is the greatest.

BTW, in case you missed it, this same Kenny Strasser fella was in charge of releasing the doves at Dwight and Angela’s wedding on “The Office” finale last night. He wasn’t much better with birds than he was with yoyos.
