how long do the card shims usually last, and with the bearing deshielded doesn’t the card beging to disindegrate and clog the bearing?

Whith the pokemon card shim I had on my speeder lasted for 1 month, I changed them today because I made new shims making the tutorial. The shims I made have never desintegrated; they only brake in half
if I made them by mistake too small, when they brake the pressure of the bearing wont let it enter the bearing cage.
