Wow! I’m really happy find this thread, only few thread that talking about TP and YYR ;D

I have, YYR Z-ON, It feels very amazing. It becomes my “main throw”. ( I have superstar, avalanche, supra, code 2, etc) and Code 2 is my second partner
I’m agree that every yoyo has different feel and we cannot compare it baldly.
I like my YYR Z-ON because it feels really fit to me, and my Code 2 also. But Z-ON can handle all my trick rather than code 2.

Yup, now, I wanna try TP, I have read some good opinion about them, I want to try Bassilisk, but I almost cant find a review of this yoyo Any one can help me?
Hmm… I also consider getting Stargeyser, Berserker RX. But many people talked about Bvm 2 and Summit. Aaaa~~ Any one can help me? haha
If I can describe my style of yoyoing, I’m not playing horizontal, fast, and “crazy” trick. I like to enjoy the feel of the yoyo everytime I throw it.

I have to disagree with TP having “no soul” while YYR “have soul”. To me they’re both highly competition-oriented japanese throws. That gives them both exactly zero soul.
I have a Sleipnir, which is awsome. And i have the Brass rimmed Leviathan 4Beta. Which i dont think represent the rest of the single-metal TP’s. However, it is the best throw i’ve tried in its size. Period.

I feel like turning points are boring to play its like they are specifically made for contests and nothing else. I would probably recommend staying away from them they are just boring to throw.

YYR yoyos have more soul
But even so, I felt YYR brutally MURDERS the play of Turning point yoyos.
I’ve played a great deal of em. They play well. But… They all seem to feel the same, Spec difference is there
But the feeling on the string, just feels so bland.
The Maxbet reminded me of a DV888 that spins longer.
The positron was good, but still. Reminded me of a lighter dv888
Just… Boring, no uniqueness to the yoyo.
Also, I actually don’t think YYF and YYJ are far behind.
If anything
The genesis is 10 years ahead of the Maxbet.
And the supernova is 10 years ahead of the Positron.

Yes, good yoyos, but I refuse to buy Turning point due to lack of soul.
I’m sure Kentaro is cool
And I Seriously look up to him, as a yoyoer.
Super innovative, and has great presence.
Just don’t like the yoyos he designs
But we All like what we like I Guess.

i guess it all comes down to preferences, the sleipnir didn’t do it for me etheir.
supernova just doesn’t compare imo, it’s good, but i wouldn’t call it a premium yoyo.
it’s like comparing the Anglam CC with the DV888 …c’mon!

when it comes to shape, H shape is my preference,

again,each player has it’s favorite brands and shapes, the best thing to is go to a yoyo shop and try them out yourself! i’ve known players who picked up a turning point over all the YYR and opposite too.
And IMO YYR kinda sucks, the quality is behind TP, it’s ONLY made for competitions (as written here:http://www.■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■.com/en/yo-yos/japan/yoyorecreation.html) i’ve had problems with unscrewing mine, its a fragile piece of equipment that looks great on a shelf…not in a yoyo player’s everyday throw

in any case, Premium Yoyos need a premium player to be enjoyed, if you’re stuck at the spirit bomb or something, don’t even THINK of getting a 200$ yoyo, it’s like having an RAZER to run Microsoft word or youtube all day… lol

most of players stick to an HP or a DELL or they might go for Asus… (aka: YYF, YYJ, CLYW) but rare are the ones going for things like Apple or Razer (YYR, TP)

Fixed Alienware is ok but Razer is much better. But that’s a different topic.

Honestly I’m not exactly sure what the hole “soul” is in Yyr’s. I’m not saying they are bad hence me participating in the appreciation thread. I just don’t see what gives Yyr’s a soul that a Tp doesn’t. If you have the money and want a Tp get one. They are quality and if you look at the facts the only difference is name color and shape.

“Soul”, “fun” and other such terms tend to just be a reflection of the weight. The lighter a yoyo the more personality it seems to have. I’d be curious to try the Leviathan 4 Light and the Basilisk Light.

Really? Well, The Gleipnir and Clash 2012 are pretty heavy, and the triplet too.

Because that’s what they are there to do, nothing more and nothing less.
You pay for the neutrality, some go faster and some go slower but all of them get out of your way and let your skill shine through.
I don’t play with TP’s 'cas I’m not good enough to justify it.

I think this is definately based on opinion

Had a triplet and it had no uniqueness to it at all but my leviathan has a very solid feel to it

Actually. I agree. The Leviathan is the only TP I’ve playd that feels. Unique. and has personality.
