Trick or Treat!?

There are a pack of lil’ critters on my street. I think about 8 or 10 of them. They are good kids always politely addressing me by name. I have no clue how old probably between 6 and 14. Most of them seem to like to play outside.

Thought yo-yos would be a nice Halloween trinket.

Thinking Duncan Imperial, Butterfly, Butterfly XT or Pro Yo. Any thoughts?

Please don’t give them Imperials. Go for something with a bit more backbone hehe

I must add that’s very kind of you!

I strongly second the Butterfly XT, but the current colors aren’t particularly seasonal. I would be thrilled to see a spooky Halloween edition.

And you know their parents will also be addressing you by name, perhaps not so politely, as their kids demand more and more yoyos in different shapes, sizes and colorways? Just saying …

Duncan XTs are the way to go…
The proyo is also great, I’ve recently started giving them away in my office and 100% of the patients are able to throw it and get it back up which was thrilling for them.

YYF Whip is nice too. You can pick these up at a Hobby Lobby if they’re in your area. 5 or 6 bucks.

Best part about the Whip is you can throw a center track in it and your full unresponsive! Plays so good in this config.

The Whip is so underrated (I think?). I have a bunch of Butterfly XT’s that I never play with. I don’t really play much responsive these days, but the Whip is the one I always grab when I’m in the mood for it.

Plus, for people new to the hobby, it’s a good introduction to the modern era because it uses pads instead of starburst response and can be upgraded by swapping in a full C bearing if they want to go that route.

Side note: Why hasn’t Duncan released a Butterfly with 19mm pads instead of starburst? I feel like that would be awesome.

I pulled the trigger and hit a “bullseye” at a major retail store. Butterfly XTs were $5 each with a bonus buy 2 get 1 free online. Nice surprise since the special deal popped up in my cart.

Thanks for all the input.

Thanks for the kind words. Just the kids I know get the Yo-Yos others get the standard fare.

I usually buy the kids I know something special like a giant candy bar. I figured for a buck and change more I can really impress.

Looking forward to giving them out and maybe teaching them a few tricks.
