Transporting Yo-Yo’s

Moving across the country and have a rather large collection of throws.

I have been trying to think of the best way to transport them and ensure they don’t get damaged.

Best option seems to be to get cases - but those can take up precious room in the car. Other ways seem to wrap them in tissue paper individually- however doesn’t seem like that will provide the best protection.

Has anyone faced anything similar and what did you do?

Bubble wrap. One sheet per with tape and you can just toss em in a box.

That’s not a bad idea.

bubblewrap or packing paper.

Grab one of those cardboard Xmas ornaments boxes. Perfect!!

For the less concerned

I saw a video of someone and I can’t remember who it was, just had a big old Rubbermaid full of yo-yos. It was then , that I realized, these things can take a beating.

Maybe this and bubble wrap. I feel it would take more room than cases though. But I guess I could reuse it for nearly anything once we get there

If you are using a moving company, be careful. I had several small collectible items “disappear” on a move to and from Germany a few years ago.

You can get little bubble wrap pouches too

I really like the idea of Christmas ornament boxes.

We are for large things- one of the reasons I want my babies with me.

I’m sorry to hear that happened to you. Did you ever get them back?

Just toss em in a box

Now…… if you have as little concern as Nathan about possibly damaging your yo-yos, then just skip the box.

Just tie them all together like empty soda cans and drag them behind the car like people do when they get married😂.

Handful of titanium’s could be fun

Put them back in their boxes, if you have them of course.

I would assume tissue would be enough. I’ve moved more times than I care to remember and it is usually enough to protect glassware. Makes sense that it would be good enough for yo-yos.

I would recommend using this. I’ve used it every time that I have moved (50+ yoyos in a box), and every time I ship @FourCorner a box full of 10-20 yoyos internationally (many, many times).

Wrapped up each individual yoyo in the plastic wrap, a few layers or so around each side, and then pack them all in a box. Sitting up against each other with the friction of the plastic wrap against plastic wrap, they don’t move at all, and are perfectly safe. Nothings banging against each other. I’ve never had an issue or damage with any yoyo shipped or moved this way. Takes up way less room than bubble wrap, and able to fit much more tightly packed together in a box.

This gives me anxiety

I don’t. This is a time I wish I kept them!!
