The fact that the argument exists now suggests that had the yoyos come out without warning, some people would have been upset. He’d have sold the yoyos, but an estimation of what that would ultimately cost him is much harder to pinpoint. Heath foresaw this, and it’s the reason he asked the question for verification.
They already have demand for a specific product that is low risk, and does not have a production cap. The Skywalker. They sell out in 3 seconds every time. Make those. Problem solved, no one upset.
Even if I don’t care if there is another run of Ti Walkers or not, I feel like this needs to be said. I commend Heath for following his promise, but the reasons why all those people not wanting another run of the yoyo has nothing to do with his promise. You are only using the fact he made a promise as leverage to keep him from machining and selling more Ti-Walkers. The real reason? You don’t want the value of your Ti-Walker to go down. You want to believe your Ti Walker is still rare, and limited. None of you would admit this, but this is the sole reason. I’m pretty sure only the people who have managed to snag a Ti Walker don’t want another run. If there is enough demand, and if the yoyo plays great enough, the value would never lower, no matter how many are produced. Take a look at the Code 2, I’m guessing tons have been put into production, and you know what? It’s still one of the most wanted yoyos on the BST, limited edition or not, and it will be until One Drop comes out with something even better. Even the CLYW Peak, which was released in 3 runs, every run sold out pretty quickly, and a few years from the point where it was discontinued, people would still trade an arm and a leg for one.
Not everyone who didn’t want the run to come out had the same reasoning. I simply like honest business people that put their view of themselves before their account balance.
