ILYY candyblast for metals, machined delrin for plastics.
Also, I thought it was cool how some of the OG 3rd run Peaks used masking to make grainy and smooth on the same surface. With solid colors it gave a monochromatic two-tone effect. Are there any other examples of that?
I’m a One Drop fanboy and I really like the OD pyramatte finish. It’s not the best for grinds, but its durable and looks and feels really nice. Also, I’m not sure about the other colors, but the black Basecamp Sherpa has the softest matte finish I’ve ever felt. I’d like to see more of that.
Anything that uses frosted polycarbonate. I love the look and I love the texture. These rims made the mod44 go from great to amazing for me. One day I’m hoping @Glenacius_K will turn more of this stuff because I know he made a Knick-Knack out of frosted polycarbonate before, and it almost seems like a better material for fixies than unresponsives. This setup for the mod44 only weighs 59g.
General yo - the blast and finish on the old Hatricks and 5 star V2, it just felt insane. Grinding it on my arm or hand felt like an angel licking me.
OG CLYW Yeti - Something about that feel of glass infused plastic, I’ve never felt it replicated
ILYY Candyblast - It’s been mentioned above and deserves to be mentioned again. The glisten it puts off, the only way to describe it is like when Edward in Twilight steps into the sun, and the feel, don’t get me started.
Antiyo Slip Matte -. Hope I’m saying that right, it’s just like Teflon. It’s so unique. In a blind test I’d be able to pick it out Everytime.
Not sure if anyone remembers the Werrd Groovy Lady? (I think that’s the name) It had a really cool surface especially for the time. What happened to Werrd anyway?
