thought about trying different bearings... suggestions?

I think I’d like play around with new bearings- all my throws are stock (north star, proto star, DM2, PSG…) nothing wrong with the stock ones, just wanted something to try… not looking to get ceramic (not ready to put a bearing in that costs as much or more then the yo yo originally did)…

So is there a difference in say the 10 ball over a standard 8? Are the Generals aircraft really any better? What about the Crucial Grooved vs the Center Track in the YYF Star line?

Here’s my thoughts on the matter:

With the exception of ceramic bearings, bearings are fairly cheap.

I’d say get a Terrapin X Wing Cut. It’s essentially a flat with a slight grinding in the middle to help with string centering. Get a Konkave, a Center Track and a Crucial Grooved. Get an OD 10-ball. Get a flat bearing as well. Swap stuff in and out. See what works for you. That should be fun. That small assortment should be enough to make good evaluations.

Oh, and not to know the OD 10-ball, but many of the good yoyo bearings use 10-ball bearings. I even have 2 YYJ narrow bearings with 10 balls!
