The "sweet spot" of difficulty

Like music, sports, art, or any skill, the “sweet spot” of difficulty means something is just hard enough to be challenging, but not so hard that frustration will conquer perseverance.

Homer Simpson: “If something’s hard to do, then it’s not worth doing.”

No I’m not saying the above. What I mean is I get the most satisfaction out of activities when I know it’s clearly in my ability level, new, but not so out of reach I will most likely give up. The fundamentals aren’t there, find something else that will build a foundation.

This thought came about when I was trying to learn some tricks above my head, and found some others in my comfort zone on High Speed Yo-yo. I had a much better time this morning.

I had fun.

Thanks for reading, and yes… this is basically common sense!
