More Solid colors please on ALL CLYW. Green, Purple, Blue etc. you guys need a better balance between Splash/Speckled and Solid colors. (Not enough solids)

Part of CLYW’s appeal is their awesome and unique splashes. I’m not sure solids would be very lucrative for them.
Betcha it would be, if it was priced a touch lower. Some people do prefer solids to begin with, and then add to that the people who don’t care either way but just want a CLYW Yoyo X.
Definitely Avalanches (“Ill Vibes” FG, so the super discount was already the MAIN motivator, but still…) and Summits did well in solids.
Personally, I prefer solids. Not that what I say should count for anything. I will say I am trying to ensure going forward I don’t have any repeat CLYW colorways UNLESS it’s 28 stories or Clareview Station, but even then I may lean towards something different just to keep things easily identifiable.
I think CLYW’s will sell no matter what they do at this point in regards to colorways. It’s just a matter of time before they come up with “Salmonella” and “E.coli” and “technicolor yawn” colorways, and I’m sure they’ll go flying off the shelf. They will need to change the shredded paper to a 2-ply for lining those boxes though, just out of courtesy. Heck, I’d buy one just based on the name!
Could you imagine the mental imagery of a “technicolor yawn avalanche”? Wow! Or a Glacier Express e.Coli?
I wasn’t aware they did any avalanches in solids. One could argue the solid summits sold well because the One Drop crowd tends to favor solids. The CLYW crowd tends to favor splashes.
I think it would be a great experiment though to do a run of solids alongside the splashes and see if the solids end up sitting on store shelves.
Anywho, when is the Yeti being released? Any estimates on date or month?
The FG run of Avalanches in about February/March were solids.
If i interpreted the information right the first run of the Yeti is coming out next month exclusive to the CLYW Store to pay off the mold and then the 2nd run will hit “our favorite retailers” before Worlds.
When will we see another run of the Cliff?
Not really fair to say CLYW crowd favors Splashes … When the crowd doesn’t have a choice they have to buy whats available. and unfortunately the Lodge just doesn’t do many solids.

I love clyws splashes more the any other company. There more unique then solids and stand out, there are so many solids by ever company so it’s nice the clyw changes it up a bit.
CLYW is not changing anything up… they have been doing Splashes forever. then Splash/Speckled, Splash/acidwash, Splash/acidwash/speckled… and maybe one or two solids most of the time yellow or crap brown (sorry not a big fan of all the earthy colors) the last round of decent solids they did was the fools gold ava’s. you know sometimes Simple is better. I’m not saying they should quit doing splashes but for the love of yo-yoing give us some Solids please.
Can’t believe there are so many anti-splash people. Splashes are amazing.

I agree. There seems to be a million option for solids out there, and people are asking CLYW to change their one defining characteristic? Hmmmm.
It appears to be the same spacers…
I rather think their huge variety (in terms of size, shape, and style!) of amazing-playing high-quality yoyos are their defining characteristic. Not some silly lipstick.
