The Official - CLYW News

I’m asking for a Lost in the Arctic Canvas for Christmas this year. Puffins and Cliffs can wait, I’m sure Chris’ll make more of them.

Man that was difficult

I’m not sure whether this has been asked before, but why is it called Caribou Lodge Yoyo Works, but you call them Return Tops?

This is a mind blowing question.

We want answers Chris!

in canada the word yoyo is copyrighted. thats why caribou lodge yoyo works is referred to as clyw and they make “return Tops”. same goes ffor spyy and other canadien companies

I thought it stood for Caribou Lodge Yo Works, hence the one “y”

Everyone knows it’s Caribou Lodge Yak Works. Ah, that fateful day when Chris was chased up that high Canadian peak by a belligerent sasquatch, only to be saved when a fortuitous avalanche swept the foul smelling beast off a mighty cliff. It was then, seeing a lone yak sitting by a lovely mountain campfire, Caribou Chris found his true calling. Unfortunately, the Pussycat Dolls weren’t hiring. So now he makes return tops. Enjoy.

This made my day.

Because we were always known as CLYW from the start. Our first logo had CLYW on it … when we had to change our name and drop the yoyoworks it was a no brainer to just stick with CLYW and reference Caribou Lodge … but ya. That’s why.

Apparently CLYW had a piece on CBC’s the National, Canada’s absolutely top-tier news program. I didn’t catch it, but my boss mentioned it to me. If there’s a link to it out there somewhere, I’d love to see it!

Here’s the link http://www.cbc.ca/thenational/watch/ starts @ the 42 min mark. Enjoy

Thanks a bunch! Want to punch cbc.ca’s ad delivery, though. Punch it in its throat. OK, not that. But give it a heck of a scolding.
