Do a GT suicide with your eyes closed, if you can do that then do a GT REVERSE suicide (good luck on this, I’ve been practicing on and off and almost always end in a knot )
I had kinda given up learning Brent Stole. I would barely ever land it, and often times if I did land in something resembling a GT, the strings would be all twisted up and wrong. Then the other day I saw it in slow motion in someone’s clip and realized I’d been doing it wrong this whole time. I was trying to get the string to come around from the back to the front instead of from the front to the back. I watched another quick tutorial after that and now I am landing it probably 3/5 tries.
Sweet!
Holy heck man, well done! Legit happy for you!!
Hoping to have that eureka moment for Iwasawa’s Tower Laceration, been trying on and off for nearly two weeks now
Reverse 1.5 took way, way waaaaay toooo long for me to click. It just feels super unintuitive.
Still i have no idea how i will hit anything above that in the future, but i will lol.
I’ve been having fun regular and reverse suicides from a ninja vanish. Adding it to my generic whip combo
ahh… so that’s how it’s done…
._.
That’s going to suck to learn
Did a fun little combo today. I’m new so nothing super fancy!
Started with a rewind and when I ended it on the trapeze I went into the first parts of skin the gerbil…the flips into a double on trapeze into unrolling to a trapeze and his brother into a double or nothing and finishing off with the full cold fusion trick…then into a bind for the win!
Simple, fun, and dang satisfying!
Also I just started working on rewind this week…and I’m making very noticeable progress with it every single day! It’s dang rewarding!
Hidemasa hook. Finally it just clicked. Have been struggling with it on and off for the last 6 months. After giving up I gave it another shot this week and finally I just hit it 10 times the last 10 minutes
So… after thinking I cracked Spirit Bomb, I was politely told the yoyo wasn’t actually going through the triangle but rather just landing on the bottom string!
It has taken me 3 solids evenings of working on the triangle aspect of it, but finally, landed 4 correct Spirit Bombs tonight!!!
I also cracked front style Revolutions, but damn I can’t get it to work side style!
I’m getting rather consistent with Kwyjibo now. Practiced the first hop for a few days alone, and the trick in it’s entirety since monday or so. It’s such a great feeling when you get how it’s done
2.0 hook and beefhook (after like an hour) on a deep state. ( I don’t have thick lube right now so I’m playing it unresponsive)
I’ll include some thick lube in the package which hasn’t quite gone out to you yet
WooHoo! Just did some legit boingy-boings! lol…just started working on them earlier today. Tried again before I head to bed and after about 5 minutes of messing around, I got 5 or 6 decent ones!
I never even tried to learn this trick way back when I use to be in the hobby. It always seemed too hard for me.
Now I’m quite sure I’m going to get consistent with it at some point!
Also been working on eli hops the last few days…what a fun trick! It’s surprising satisfying to just pop the yo up and land it! I feel like i could do that all night!
Beefhook is impressive on it’s own…but to do it on a slimline? Great job! That’s awesome
That is so cool and nice of you!
Thanks! Actually I ordered a bottle of Super Lube from Home Depot, which I’ll get sometime this week probably.
String burn may become an issue if you get too extreme in your hopping. I’ve burned through a glove going past the speed of sound lol
Yikes!
No string burn issues yet…no pain where the loop goes around my finger since I’ve started either.
I did bruise my thumb a couple of days after starting though. It really wasn’t super painful, but the whole pad of it was black and blue for a few days.
And just today I was watching a movie and holding my yo up and working on snap starting it while sitting there…
Now I have a painful blister on my middle finger! lol…frustrates me too, cause I did my first couple of snap starts today and really want to continue working at it…but as is, my finger is too painful! xP
People often think that the middle finger gets most of the punishment during strong throws, but for me, my pointer finger gets absolutely wrecked after a couple hours of solid throws. I’ve got about a dozen indents along the side of my finger closest to my thumb, where I often have the string wrapped on my finger from the throw. I actually had 2 incidents of the cuts starting to bleed because I was constantly pushing the string into the same indents. I guess my finger has string centering capabilities? It’s like a grooved bearing
