Anyone still throwing Duncan Professionals? It’s still my favorite Duncan. Hands down the best pocket yo-yo!

The art always reminds of the Pontiac Firebird hood art and whenever I see either of them I think, “Hell Yeah.”

ok gang, shoot the moon. i assume wider is better than loopers? if i understand correctly it’s just planet hops but up, so i don’t want the yo to flip over right? i can kick it up at the right angle to start but the second shot doesn’t go anywhere yet. any other tips are definitely welcome

I wouldn’t say it’s exactly planet hops but up, but yes, you’re correct it shouldn’t flip.

Butterfly works pretty well for shoot the moon. Loopers would be more difficult for learning but not impossible.

I think I used the yo tricks tutorial for learning it if I recall correctly.

This picture might’ve been more useful to me than any video honestly. Gives you a good idea of the shape and height your going for.

that’s a much shallower angle on the throw than i was doing, tks!

Yes. Wider better.

Yes. Planet hops up. No flip.

Another thing worth noting, the angle very much depends on the ratio of string thickness and yoyo gap.
I would start by making the initial throw around 45°.
And then as the yoyo returns, if it tends to want to swing back at a narrow angle (maybe even forward), try using thicker string. And vice versa, thinner string if the angle is too wide.
Wall height is also a factor, but string thickness is the easiest one to change. Hope this helps!

does anybody know what types of pads work with the OD deeper slate? i was thinking snow tires might work

The Deeper State uses Flow Groove pads. They are pretty thick pads and the red ones seem to be more grippy than the clear. Snow tires are also pretty thick and grippy and “may” be a good alternative. I haven’t tried them so I can’t say for sure.

Response: One Drop Pads Standard Flow Groove Pad

I was already pretty proud of this one, then dazzling Dave commented “nice!” on my video on Facebook and the fan girl in me is bouncing and screaming, beyond proud. So I wanted to share.

Hey folks, I’m really proud of this little montage here.
It’s been weeks of grinding into the"bird" and to get to this down.

Thanks
