He planed on having the yoyos out way before he started the team, he started it thinking the yoyos were around the bend then a lot of things went down to where he had to wait and redesign. He compared himself to YYF because he is saying he wants to be taken seriously, and that it is a real team.
I agree with q. Call me a hater if you want. You can’t go around telling people not to post here. It’s a forum. The abyss is the worst name for a yoyo team I can think of. It’s run by a 12 year old who needs to get his head straight and stop thinking his little group of friends are as big or can even relate to yoyofactory.
this is getting out of hand. i dont want a flame war
He is starting a company, and i have talked to him and he is very serious about this. just because he may be young doesn’t mean anything. and he isn’t saying that he is just as good as yoyofactory, he is saying he wants to be taken seriously. and i think abyss is a good name, but that has no reason to be bashed at all.
on the other hand, this is a public forum and no one but the moderators can tell people not to post here. this is also what i consider a schoolhouse team, but my defenition may be different than others. you guys dont have any yoyos yet. you guys are just starting out, and you still have much to learn. that is what i think of when in think of schoolhouse.
it is still a legitimate team and it is developing, and it is impolite to ask to join. but the flaming has gone far enough. just stop
He shouldn’t want to be taken seriously because he has nothing to prove that his team is legit. First you need to show everyone that your team is for real AND THEN the respect will come. As I see it he could get bored any day now and all of this would be over.
His age DOES matter. A team will do much better if the leader has connections and has been around the yoyo scene for years. When people see that the leader of the team is young they will automattically think the team is a joke.
Also since he asked people on the forum some time back if they wanted to be on his team then he should be ready for questions asking to join.
I’m not trying to flame anyone. I just find it stupid that they start a team before they have any yoyos. Even if “Stuff went down” it should be about the yoyo and not the team. He started the “team” well in advance of any yoyo production and that’s what bugs me. He can a start a company while being a young kid, I don’t care, I just think that the way he chose to go about it is all wrong.
i know what you mean. i was thinking the same thing.
and Q, you do have a point, but then again, there are examples of teams before yoyos. DXL, for instance. this i think (i dont know for sure) it started as a team and then they decided to add yoyos and make it into a company while finding members.
I don’t think you’ll get a machinist to make your yoyo (unless they have made one before) until you give him FULL specs of the throw drawn out in autoCAD. like the inside depths and everything. if you draw all of that up in autoCAD you will have no problem finding a machinist to make it for you. thats all it takes. I don’t think any machinist without yoyo making experience will make anything from those drawings you posted. looks like it would be great throw if it really happens. im just wondering why did the other machinist just bail after saying he would do it?
I think he is too young for a Company, But thats my opionion, He has People on the the team with more expeirence then himself. He will not be taken seriously by any one, People would feel more comfortable with a Owner that is and adult not a child. but, this is how I feel.
So age is directly relevant to experience? Gizzyo, the founder of team AirGlow, has been in the yoyoing community for far longer than I have. He’s much younger than me but he can run circles around me knowlege-wise. It all comes down to how long you’ve been in the yoyoing game, not around in general.
that is all
(EDIT: I may of interpreted that quote a bit off, but the first sentence is what got me.)
(EDITEDIT: first sentence is false, second is true, third is false. There, that sounds better)
Does he have design specs for the inside of the yoyo in CAD? I think thats very important. Age always matters as you cannot do a lot of things legally if your not 18 that a company would need. How is the is the owner too young how old is he? I’m picturing a 13 year old talking to a middle aged man who owns a yoyo website trying to get them to sell his yoyo, or any transaction. Any legal action his parent or legal guardian would have to get involved. I say 18 is GO unless you have a sure thing. In my honest opinion so far this whole thing doesn’t look too “GO” or professional to me, but noone asked and what do I know besides for some posts on thread u know? Good luck to you guys.
Dude the picture in this post is a screenshot from CAD, if you knew how to use CAD software, you don’t even have to dimension it, you can just draw and find a shape and it makes dimensions.
