so see that on the edge of weight rings on a yoyo, the rings curve in to make a slight groove. What if i were to put silicone to fill just that groove, for it won’t affect grinding and weighs down the yoyo.

Yeah I don’t see the use of that silicone either.
Is this an X-ConVict? I don’t have mine anymore, but I’m pretty sure that supposed to be there so you can grind longer on your fingernail (less of the metal is touching your nail).
