I made three one piece yoyos today. One from pepperwood, one from oregon and one from one of the best woods I know of for yoyos; cypress pine.
‘One piece’ means that it is turned entirely out of a single block. This results in a yoyo that breaks in with more use, so they get better the more they are played. They end up having a very smooth throw and return feel once you get past the initial grippy stage.
The pepperwood and oregon ones are very light, but are still perfect for general 0A play, just don’t rely on them for long spinning tricks.
The cypress pine one has a hairline crack where a knot is, but this doesn’t compromise the structure as far as I can tell. It plays superbly.
These yoyos will reward you for making them EDC. As mentioned above, they will take a while to break in, but when they do, they will be wonderful.
