I made these today out of an Australian wood called silky oak.
They play great and have excellent response. They will break in further with play.
One is a KNack, the other inspired by one of my earliest models called the Spindle.
These are pretty complex yoyo shapes to turn from from a single block, so there are some imperfections in the deep cut areas to form the taper and axle.
