Boomerang is getting better. On my bigger tops I’m better but I don’t play them indoors mostly. Maybe I will make one large and light?
I’m also getting better at merry-go-round but this was a bad example.

I never really tried doing Cobras

The weight ring komas seem so nice. I’ve been working on corkscrew with my small 35g ringless koma and I feel like I just have to be so fast right now to have enough spin to complete the trick. I’m sure it’ll get a lot easier with more practice though.

The extra weight really does help keep it spinning. It’s hard to manipulate a koma without scrubbing off speed, I can’t do a lot with one, but it’s a fun challenge. The people that can do tricks with a koma seem like pros to me because it’s much harder than regular tops.

Does snap start translate from yoyo? I can snap start righty on yoyo.

Yeah, not really. It’s super hard to regen a slow turning top, and it takes good fingers to snap start a top with decent spin.

Made a replacement for my vibey green twin. This one uses a 4mm x 20mm shelf pin hammered in through the front to reinforce the tip. You can see on the guts shot that there’s no screw. This is an outdoor player, as I’ve already dinged my wood floor

I’ve looked in to some of those, and I’m so far away skill wise. Not only am I not in the ball park, I think we’re playing different sports .
I think the next big mile stone for me will be snap starts. I entered the online contest. Videos are due by June 1st. I think I can get it consistent before that.

That tutorial by Quentin on snap starts is very good, but it does not even hint at the difficulty of keeping a slow spinning top from just falling off of the string
