Someone's got Talent and 2A

Hello all,

Although I usually do not participate that much in the YoyoExpert Forums, I do read them quite a lot so here it goes, my plea for help:

Last Sunday, January 17th, I was able to pass on the audition to Portugal’s Got Talent (yey mom! I am on TV) and I may say that I am little happy on the inside… Bad part is: I promise to one of the judges that I would do 2 hand yoyo (2A) next time… Clever, uh?

So, for now I can do inside-loops and around the world with both hands with ease and I am learning now to control my non-strong hand (left-hand) with the outside-loops and I am also trying some hop the fence with both hands.

So my question is: Do you know any trick that’s easy to learn (ahahah 2A is not easy) and flashy on non-yoyoers eyes that I should learn right away. I’ve only like less then 2 weeks to the next audition.

I have some ideas on trying to learn sword and shield and others but I would like a experienced opinion.

Thanks for your time and hope to hear some thoughts on what I’ve asked,
-J

tanger and wraps are cool

what i would reccommend is to do 2a like the first bit of the freestyle. then go into something like offstring or freehand to do some aerials bcause that always wows people. then just do whatever you like as a finale in the end

Don’t be an idiot, you think he can learn Tangler in two weeks when he’s just getting the hang of 2a?

i learned tangler in 3 days and i cant even do hop the fence properly yet. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, that’s… odd.

Tangler is not easy to learn, but not the complicated trick in the world. In the given amount of time you have, you would probably wanna save Tangler for last, if you have some time for that trick. The main key is to really perfect your left hand then after that, this is where you can come in and freestyle. Oh and another key is being able to throw around the worlds in the same direction, and reverse directions of each other. I can’t remember the name of that trick, but if you can perfect your loops with both hands, and around the worlds, in both directions with both hands, your best case is to freestyle. By all means, some easy tricks you can probably do are staircase, arm wraps (crowd pleaser), cow jumped over the moon, or even elbow wraps I beleive they are called. you can look these up somewhere :stuck_out_tongue: These are just some basic tricks you can do in the short amount of time you have. If you have a little bit left, tangler has got to be the biggest crowd pleaser cause everyone things you’re gonna get a knot the whole time. That’s why it’s such a big deal I suppose. But freestylin is your best case after you perfect your loops and around the worlds. Good luck!

Well… Something weird just happened on the thread… I thought that me and Jayyo just have posted some replies to it somedays ago but now they just vanished :\

As I said before, thanks for your suggestions, I’ll guess I stick with around the world and loops based tricks and maybe do some double walk the dogs and other crowd pleasing tricks. Unfortenately I am terrible at doing hop the fences so I guess I’ll not practice some of the ones JuhnLuk just mentioned…

Let’s see how the practice goes, right now I am using some sunsets but I’ll try some Raider EXs sometime soon.

Also, just learned today that after the Audition Stage in the Got Talent series there is a stage where you don’t have to perform but you can be eliminated. Since my performance on the audition stage was a little bad, I am not expecting to pass to the next step. Still, I’ll keep practicing for sure

Thank you all,
-Joel
