So, I made my first YoYo

What kind of anodizing can you do? Most anodizing I have seen on YoyoExpert are usually logos, simple splashes or plain colors. I haven’t seen any photo-quality color anodizing on a yoyo just yet. Maybe someone more knowledgeable than me can verify if it has been done before.

What does this even mean? Also anodizing titanium is quite different from aluminum.

Jason Wong (Loaded Yo-Yos) was the anodising king. Whilst I can’t really say for sure he’s stretched it as far as is humanly possible, he definitely went the furthest that I’ve seen on yoyos so far. Here are just a few of many examples:

and here is some of the things he’s done with titanium:

Oh Jason… where art thou…? I have a couple of raw yoyos and a pocket full of cash…

Photo-quality means its indistinguishable from a photograph. It has been done for aluminum surfaces, but I’m not sure about titanium.

Those are some nice designs there. He certainly has an eye, for graphic design.

It sucks Jason hasn’t even been online since November.

Oh, we can do some pretty trick stuff with Titanium anodizing.

I have a laser, for marking things.
It’s how I get my logo on my goods.

Here’s a few random shots of my pens.
Some done in my shop, some done by a buddy.

And here’s a mark that I recently lasered on to one of my knives.

Those are pretty cool, seems like it would work well

We’re running some test anodizing right now, should have pics this evening.

Here’s one we ran through some Ano real quick, just as an example.

We can do better, but this project has to wrap up today, for at least a few weeks.

I like how the colors are kinds muted and smokey, hours will with the titanium. Interesting watching this thread and the process of tuning a yoyo design

No idea who this so called Fellhoelter guy is, but he is now one of my favorite members on this forum.

Plz PM me on how to get one of those anodized Tacti-cool pens lol.

Seriously this guy is churning out titanium throws like butter.

And this is #1, they have already improved since this one was made.
On what, Monday or Tuesday?

I’m doing my best to get to a place tomorrow where there are some folks who know how to throw.

I’ll report back, if it happens.

I like it, a “Rust Bucket” kind of colorway

Cool Brian! I am eventually going to get David to anodize my Sovereign.

I assume i can post this since there’s nothing he sell competing with YYE: Fellhoelter Toolwerks – Fellhoelter ToolWerks

Fastest progress on making a yoyo I’ve seen from a Forum Member xD

And it turned out good!

The color ano looks great!

I know I’m quoting a few pages back, but I think yoyos are usually weighed without the string.
I could be wrong; anybody want to back me up or tear me down.

That’s what I thought too. I think the string may add around 2 grams or so, not sure

The yoyo is definitely sweet but how about those pens. I’m going to have to save up for one of those.

So, I stopped by this little Factory in Arizona yesterday…

Everyone there seemed to like the YoYo.

They tell me I’m doing good!

We got to see them bust a whole bunch of tricks, and they sent my 5 year old son home with tons of free swag.
