Put ptfe Teflon plumbing tape on the wood threads, solves the issue
That looks very nice!
Beautiful! Love the elegant and graceful lines ![]()
How does it play?
That’s awesome. My friend works with that material making countertops. I think I’m gonna have to convince him to make a yo-yo for me…
Corian yoyo?
Yeah you are right that’s the material I’m thinking of!
Can you make a replacement axle 3d printed for my tmbr? I would pay for a 3d printed screw with a metal axle
Give this guy a medal with his metal TMBR axle. That’s a slightly blasphemous but great idea.
I’m sure I could, but haven’t tried yet. The thread pattern I’m using isn’t the same as TMBRs though. May have to work on that soon.
Let me know if you need any info on dimensions or anything
Wow, that looks so nice! Did you make it in a 3D printer? I don’t know much about them, but they usually result in a ‘layered’. Was this the same thing, but sanded down somehow?
I turned this yoyo on my lathe.
Wow !!! It looks amazing
make it happen glen

The smooth texture and finish looks amazing and top notch ![]()
I made a UHMWPE Survivalist tonight to see how my new response would behave in a yoyo made from a very low friction material. Surprisingly it works well. It was looking bad when I first put the string on. It resisted my engineer’s winds completely with the yoyo just slipping right down to the bottom of the string without gripping the walls. With a manual wind an a couple of throws, it was responding very well and still does. It plays significantly smootber than the production Survivalists and the regens are very gradual and smooth allowing for sloooow orbitals. Its very interesting and performs great. I teally like this!
while I was looking for the pictures of the knives I also found these of when, years ago, I modified a YYF One Star.
From the photos you can see how I modified the plastic seat of the bearing with seats made by me on the lathe, in aluminum.
I inserted stainless steel rings by interference, again on lathes in the plastic and modified the shape …
Oh mate. So cool!
Thanks so much! ![]()
Now it belongs to a dear friend of mine, I gave it to him with great joy.
I admit that this, above all due to the modification of the shape and unlike the first one that I made and that I gave to Riccardo Fraolini, is affected by a vibration, which does not give problems during the game but which is clearly visible to the eye.
Not all things come out perfect … ![]()
