What did you paint with?

Enamel. by hand. Need to work on thinning the paints out more, this feels a little too, well, thick. compared to other painted throws i’ve owned.

So I finally got around to taking some pictures of the collection. I took them all separately and combined them in different ways. That way I can make different groups really easily. I’ll just post a couple for now to keep it small.

Here are the Bassalopes. I love the old style CLYW engravings. Wish they still did some of that with simpler colorways. It all seems to be splashes and acid washes nowadays. I still love those though so I can’t complain

and here are the BvMs. I love the feel of the Franks Slide and YoHo colorway. It must be a different finish from the early days. And the colorways are great in person. Talk about a little going a long way. Simple, yet excellently done splash with deep dark color background.

As I make some more collages, I’ll post my other groups. I still have quite a few to show. I’ve been a lurking collector for awhile now

Thanks for letting us have a peek at your collection! I love that purple Bassalope, what’s the name of that edition? Isn’t it like queen something?

Caribou queen edition

Ahh, thanks.

Very Nice collection you have there, but I’m also really impressed with your photographs !

What are you using for lighting?

Nice work…

Thanks. I made a homemade lightbox. It was really easy and I was pretty surprised that it worked so well. I took a big square box and basically cut windows into the sides. Then I took some translucent parchment paper and taped it up into the windows. Then from the basement I got two 9 inch clamp lights with 100 watt bulbs in and shined them in from both sides. Oh, don’t forget the white poster board for the inside. It is curved in a way that there is no visible edge in the background of the photo. The paper diffuses the light so much that shadows and hot spots are minimal.

If you look up light tent on amazon you’ll see the concept. Next time I have everything set up I’ll take a picture of it for you. I still have a few more CLYWs to do and then most of my one drops and ILYYs.
