Scammer Warning

Hello, there were posts about this recently in YYE bst recently, but now he has burned me. Ilya Vasilyev/Illia Vasiliev, located in the city of Dnipro in Ukraine, has a history of scamming in the yoyo community. Here are his four banned Yoyoexpert accounts and Instagram:

He also goes by the username “vplahtii” in addition to what is listed above.

He purchased a yoyo from me, and then proceeded to say it was lost in the mail and demanded a refund. While it is possible that it was actually lost, I find it very sketchy because he ordered right around the time he scammed a yoyoer out of a large sum of money on this website. For a normal buyer a refund would be no problem at all, but I think it’s impossible to trust the word of a scammer like this. I can tell that the BST scammer is 100% the same person who ordered from me because he has the same name, and he used the same emails that were linked to some of these YYE accounts. I can provide more evidence of this if needed. He has opened a Paypal claim against me and will get his money back, because I made the mistake of sending by USPS international which does not provide proof of delivery.

Just making another post to warn sellers and buyers, so you can not order from him or cancel his order. He seems to be willing to go further than any yoyo BST scammer I have seen.

From how he acted with that Akita trade I will not be surprised if he continues to try and make more accounts.
I cant think of a way to block him from making future accounts since he would probably just use a VPN if we blocked the IP. And it feels unfair to just say don’t do business with people from the Ukraine because I’m sure there are a lot of people from there who do buy and trade with absolutely no issues. So I’m not quite sure what we could do other than make sure people have a good feedback thread before payment is made

I also want to add that you should always be very sceptical if you see a Japan Team Edition SF Statement.

More often than not, you’re dealing with this scammer as it appears pretty much every single time on at least one of his BST posts.

He usually also sells multiples (usually 3) of some SF yoyos, which are typically the SF Cadence (BMC Cadence included) and the SF Movement.

Thank you for the heads up on this. Just had this individual purchase a reflection. I was super excited since I saw it was going to Ukraine but saddened when I found out it was going to a scammer :frowning:

I refunded their order based on this thread and the known reputation they have.
