This is a quick and easy way of putting a counter-weight on a string already attached to a yoyo and then removing it just as easily.
Another way, that I find a bit easier, is to put the knot end through the counterweight, making the slipknot like you’d normally for 1a, and then putting the loop over the counterweight.
Unfortunately, none of these tricks work for Duncan balls, since the hole is smaller.
