Just a kid, see him everyday among the masses
nobody knows who he is outside of classes
nobody can see the things that he’s seen
nobody hears the inner voice screaming out of this teen
Just a kid, growing up in a home thats not a home
not knowing if tomorrow he’ll be in street’s that he’ll roam
Cause who’s his mom, why is she never around
where is his dad, nobody knows that in his chains he is bound.
Just a young kid, too young to understand what it means
“where’s my dad!” a mother’s tears can’t drown out his screams
All alone, nobody to hold, life is just a haze
don’t want to question why mom’s been gone for 3 days
Nobody knows, its why he spends his nights in his tears
constantly striving to put away his overwhelming fears
Where is the hope, is there anybody out there who can save
what’s the point of living if you’re trapped in a cave
It’s why he threw, the only thing that kept him breathing
through trembling hands and heartbroken heaving
giving it all, not for anybody but himself
anything to keep him from that blade on the shelf
just a teen. Nobody understands what he’s about
The emo scene kid at the brunt of screams and shouts
Good for nothing, stupid worthless piece of life
these thing’s he’s numb to, just like the pain inflicted by the knife
But still he throws on, through sleepless nights of mental affliction
through string burns and bruises that come from his addiction
Tunnels, like the empty voids inside of his mind
Rejections, like the kind he seems to constantly find
Nobody knows, the pain of finding his own mother there
taken far too many, done with a life that wasn’t fair
Nobody knows, he’s planning to end it tonight
frankly just tired of the constant fight
But yet theres some there, some who don’t know yet they still reach out
the love of a toy, bringing the most unlikely friendships about
They didn’t know, but they truly saved him from the bind
Just a few words made him realize who he would leave behind
Now just a man, struggling to get by in life
but thankfully far away from the influence of the knife
through metal on string, and a community inside
he finds that truly there is nothing to hide
Offstring, like the freedom from bondage he found
Regens, no longer stopping from the hurt that he was bound
Whips, reminders of the wounds of the past
scuffs, reminder that the pain would never last
Just a kid, with a piece of metal in his hand
so simple, but with it, can take on anything in the land.
