Hey everyone, I wanted to let everyone know about a new discovery made by @fradiger recently.
We all love Permatex Ultra Grey because of its hardness of 45 which makes it durable and less responsive.
However, there is an even harder silicone with the shore hardness value of 67! This is much more than even Motorsil Reds which have 50 hardness.
I had to try it out and yesterday I applied it to one of my yoyos. Testing it out today, I can immediately tell it’s much harder than ultra grey. It’s noticeably stiffer and looks much more durable.
Binds wise, I think it is only ever so slightly slippier than Ultra Greys. However, because of this, I can apply the silicone flush instead of recessed like I do with Ultra Greys. This makes it last even longer and honestly I personally like the extra slippiness even more cause I use very long string.
I recommend yall to test it out! Permatex® Gear Oil RTV Gasket Maker, 3 OZ - Permatex
I siliconed all my yoyos after testing it out.
