Omg, this just reminded me that anytime I was able to make a perfectly usable (I had small hands as a kid) stub of a pencil, I would save them in an empty jewelry/ring box. I had completely forgotten about this box but my parent were cleaning up their house a few years ago and told me to come over and pick up anything I’d want to keep.
Well, little did I know, I was in for a drive to deep nostalgia. The not-nearly-as-filled-as-I-remember Ring box of my pencil stubs was there. I actually don’t write as much as I used to and when I do, it’s typically a special occasion, which means, I pick one of my fountain pens from my humble collection.

In any case, I’m sorry to say, chat, but the ring box did not make the cut
Also, I’m not a pencil sharpener hobbist, but I preferred a smooth sharpening experience to a crank one (that one, big blue sharpener with 4 holes for multiple sizes). There was only ever on crack sharpener that felt smooth and also left my pencil smooth af and it was in a classroom in elementary school. I’m sure it’s long gone by now
Thanks! Yep, it just takes standard staples. You can spin the disk on the bottom to have it staple in different patterns too. It’s definitely showing its age with the worn plating. Seems pretty indestructible otherwise though!
A friend’s father passed away in the early 1990s. I helped my friend and his mom clean out their house, and I found this in his dad’s office. They let me keep it, and I have used it ever since. I have no idea how old it is, but it’s 8 inches long, and weighs almost 19 ounces. It’s a stapler and a weapon!
