One Drop presents The Format:C

The Format:C Challenge: design a 7075 yoyo for competition play from the ground up. The “C” stands for “Competition” or “Contest”.

The testing process was intense with two rounds of prototyping going to every single member of our team for extensive play. The Format:C probably has the deepest “beta testing” of any yoyo we have made.

We had an unexpected extra challenge on the manufacturing side. We had to change and refine some processes to be able too make these consistently balanced. Shawn (The Machinist) was up for the challenge and was able to solve the problems. There was a point where we thought we may not be able to release this.

Dat sexy… I’m buyin…

Can’t wait for this one!!! Awesome news!!

Will the finished product be Pyramatte? These proto’s look polished.

Side effect equipped?

Looks amazing! No Side Effects though, right?

No. You can see the bearing seat on the raw yoyo’s under the proto’s.

G Steller let me try his orange proto a few times and it was a set-up like the Burnside and Cafe Racer. Tapped axle system…

I love the way these looked and knew I wanted one since I saw those fist Instagram pictures. I’ll definitely be getting one of these.

It is technically Pyramatte but it turns out more polished on 7075 aluminum.

Ok that makes sense… Looks great to me!!! I love the look on both colors. Really makes them pop!!! Fine work!

So coach

These are the best looking yoyos I’ve seen in a long time. Will def pick one up.

Oh, so that’s what that purple throw that you guys were carrying around on Saturday.

Soo, umm. No I need to get one of these, AND a Rally. I’m so gonna be broke.

Will you have them at worlds?

hey david can you save one for me next time i come down ;)…
but seriously how long will you have these at your shop?

Very interesante!

Why hasn’t anyone asked this yet?..

Price point!? ;D

Price point can be pretty predictable when it comes to companies. Most of their throws have similar prices. But nobody asked probably because they don’t care, they just want a Format C!

I suppose, but it is just that this is the first original 7075 from OD, if I’m not mistaken, so I didn’t think I could make an accurate guess. (And by “original” 7075, I mean other than the GZRs)

Does it come with an fdisk?
