Update: I have a somewhat sloppy but serviceable 52 seconds recorded. It might have to do unless we get a better take this weekend when the videographer (aka the wife) is available for reshoots. Stay tuned.
Awesome, beezy! Looking forward to it. Only a few more days!
Updated the topic and original post to reflect thehandcoderās offer. We decided that the runners-up should have something extra, too, so the holsters will go to the runners-up!
Can I request that in reference to the purposes of this contest the winning entries be made available on VHS, or as a nice hand carved set of lithographs?
Iāll send you my combo transcribed into pictures and arrows.
Greg,
Video sent / posted to youtube. LOL
Please do laugh! We do what we can.
Good stuff, kitebug! Looking forward to seeing it.
Question for whoever cares to answer: when it comes time to open up the polls, should we do a āhidden pollā (results only once poll is closed for a surprise ending) or keep it open and visible (to watch the race as it unfolds)?
Iām kinda in the āhidden pollā camp, but it doesnāt really matter much to me.
This was too funny. Whatās sad is that I still have my VCR set up and functioning. One of my students asked me what VCR meant and I said āVideo Cassette Recorderā. His response was, āWhatās a cassette?ā
I answered, āItās French for oldā.
In answer to the above question, I say make the voting hidden, but in large type when itās time to display.
And Iād like one of those yoyo holders, handcoder! Those look really nice.
Sure hidden poll, makes for more suspense.
Either way itās all in good fun!
Hidden for sure bro!!
Yep, I agree.
OK, it is ready, now to what locale do I pony express the wax cylinder?
But seriously, what free or inexpensive iPhone app or Mac program can I use to add a music track?
I would think iMovie should do itā¦ do you have iLife?
If not, we can set up a DropBox and Iād be happy to add the soundtrack for you. I promise I wonāt replace it with squealing random high-pitched noises and harsh static.
Yup - iMovie is a fantastic program, easy to use. Itās what I have used in all the videos Iāve done.
I concur - hidden poll would be best.
Those paracord holders look awesome, Iāve tried making them in the past, but mine didnāt quite have the same class (all I really want in life is a good holder + yoyo, a cigar and good cognac).
imovie is ok but splice works better. More features to edit the video and add elements. I have moved from apple to android and it is the only app that I miss. I agree with hidden vote.
iMovie and Final Cut X are super duper easy to use
Splice worked great!
My lo-fi vid is up and link sent to Greg.
Thanks! I have been thinking about trying to sale a few of them. Maybe I will have to start a BST thread.
I am sorry, someone pointed this thread out to me, there are 12 pages of infoā¦ and the first page does not seem to know what I want to knowā¦ I am getting older trying to figure out what this is about, can someone please nutshell it for me, either here, or in a private message? I think I want to join in, but I donāt know what I am joining in on? Sorry, cause, well. Old.
Iāll let gregP nutshell it. I just know there is some type of competition for old people with videos.
I managed to catch about half of the tricks I wanted to catch. I put a track to it and uploaded, but Iām going to try again tomorrow. Hopefully Iāll manage to get the entire set of tricks in one shot.
Somehow I missed the part that does explain āthe meat of the post in a nutshellā by not seeing the very first thing entitled thusly, so no need to expound for me. ( I SWEAR that wasnāt there when I looked before!!! I probably started on page 3 or something. My estimation is that I started 1A non responsive āthrowingā < all up on the vernacularā¦ In September of 2011, so Maybe since I am coming up on my two year āanniversaryā I should refrain, but I will certainly be following what goes on, Thanks!!!
