Okay folks. I need some help or maybe a good video. I cannot seem to throw the spin top to where it lands on the tip. I don’t know if I’m supposed to throw it at an angle or if I’m supposed to throw it perfectly straight. Some videos show people throwing them sideways, some people show throwing them right side up. Some people throw them upside down. Some people throw them at angles.
The one video I found shows that you put your arm up to shoulder length and you point to a spine on the ground and you throw it to that spot for some reason when you pull when you get to your waist you’re supposed to pull it My spin top will literally fly back at me.
Does anybody have a good video that shows a proper method
See that’s where I’m getting messed up because there’s a lot of videos saying to pull back and then there’s videos saying don’t pull back but then I’m seeing people throwing all different weights but this one guy throws it like a bowling ball and it lands on its tip. I’ve thrown it probably 20 times today and I still could not get it from laying on this tip so I will try to throw it again. Maybe a different way and not pull it
I have to be honest it’s actually harder than I thought yesterday I was doing actually okay today I can’t get anything to land. I feel like I’m throwing it fine but all it does is land on its side. I have to figure out what I’m doing wrong with the throw or maybe it’s my windup.
Even though I’m failing over and over again, I’m not frustrated with it. When I do get it to land I’m like. Yeah that was pretty cool. I might go outside and try to throw in the grass. Maybe I can perfect it in the grass instead of throwing on the floor and then having it freaking go crazy and then roll all over the apartment
It is pretty funny when you first start playing and they fly all over the place…That, and they always seem to roll under furniture as far back as possible! You will get it though - just have to keep practicing, watch some videos, get the right string length. I had to think of throwing it like a big check-mark and that seemed to help a little. There are still times though when no matter what, I just cant get a good throw on top that I have thrown a hundred times!
Yeah, yesterday I threw one of the my spin tops and I was landing dead center. Perfect throws three or four times then all of a sudden today I can’t can’t throw nothing. I haven’t landed one today. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’m going to practice in the yard because every time I throw it it spins too much and then literally like starts rolling all over the place. It goes under the TV stand or bounces down the stairs or just decides to bounce off the wall.
I think it would be better if I throw in the grass and at least see if I can get my throws to land on the tip instead of landing always on the side
Let go with the tip straight up and don’t bend your wrist, release it high enough you don’t hit the ground before your string tuns out. After a few thousand throws you can experiment with how hard you can throw.
One thing you want to make sure of is keeping a tight, even wind.
