I agree, I like a more angular V type shape than a more curved organic shape, but it’s similar 
The Only reason I got rid of that bump on the edge, is due to how uncomfortable it can be if you catch the yoyo wrong.
I agree, It doesn’t look as cool, but it helps the feel in the hand, I could try and recreate a small aesthetic on the rim to make it look cooler, if you guys want?

Our original design was something new, something that had a glidy-fast feeling. We produced a 4-stepped yoyo and hit the mark on the first try
This revision is to appeal to the community as a whole, still different but retaining more solid play + minor physical tweaks. The outer face ring/hub was implemented originally for the lunar wind to carry its weight throughout the body. Now with a new implement (by me cough cough) the actual cut in the face places the weight uniquely in two different ways. Plus it just looks straight up awesome.
The rounding of the yoyo was to add a more comfortable feel versus the harsh lines and the inevitable lip that we received much feedback on.

Would thumb grinds still be possible with this new design? I like a yoyo that can do everything… Horizontal, arm grinds, thumb grinds, finger grinds, fingerspins, even matador would be a bonus even though I cant do it yet xD
