What lube do y’all use for your guys deep/deeper states? Is it still v4m?
I’ve used traxxas silicon grease on all my modern respsonsives. Gives them a nice and snappy feel on the tug. I think it’s the stuff doc pop uses.
Is there a specific one? There’s different types
I’ve always used TRA1657 when using traxxas grease however I’ve also used danco 88693 silicone grease and I’ve heard a few folks like super lube 92003
Also brain lube was just repackaged superlube 51010 which is often a default for folks that want a little more spin but still a good response.
I’ve been using the grease that came in this Ozark Trail fishing reel maintenance kit from Walmart. Seems to work just fine!
Lots of stuff works fine. I have used vaseline and chapstick for responsive yoyos. Chapstick is cool bc it lasts a long time and responds nice.
So glad this topic was posted-
I just got a Deep State over the weekend and was curious what everybody was/is using to make it more responsive and snappy. I want to use for 0A/responsive play. Great thread @ayayron808 !
Awesome little yoyo BTW!
Thanks!
Last question, shields on or off? Or does it matter?
I hate dealing with Shields so they come off and stay off
Doesn’t matter
i get my a’s from fast eddy bearings. they come super snappy and stay that way for a long time. i haven’t gotten c’s specifically from them but they do carry them and if you want snappy response without having to reapply lube, I’d definitely give them a try
I just threw in some Chapstick on my 1/2 shielded bearing- it helped a lot but not QUITE snappy enough. I actually have some lube that came with my hair clippers at home now that I think about it- will try that later- thanks all!
Adding a touch of oil on top of the chapstick helps it soften and spread, or you could apply more chapstick.
Now that’s a pro-tip there, I’ve never thought of trying that!
Yeah I’ve added brain lube (oil) ontop of grease to help work it in and thin out the grease a tad cause danco grease especially is very very vicious
Brain lube aka superlube
