WHAT: Capital City Yo-Yo Contest

WHEN: August 8th, 10-2

WHERE: Tallahassee. FL at the Cottages in Lake Ella

The Capital City Yo-Yo Contest

The Capital City Yo-Yo Contest will be held August 8th, from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M.  It will be held in the green space outside of Lofty Pursuits.  You can find a google map of Lofty Pursuits at (Google Maps).  It is open to players and spectators of all ages.  Come on out for a great day of yoyoing in Tallahassee!

10:00-11:00 Contest Registration
11:00-12:00 1A 4A and 5A Exhibitions
12:00-1:00 Ladder Competition
1:00- 2:00  Freestyle Competition

There will be three divisions of competitions:

There will be 5 tables around the contest area which will be setup for doing a certain trick as many times as you are able to.  The person with the most completions of a trick in a single attempt at the end of the day will be declared the winner.  The challenges are:

The Sleeper challenge

Inside Loop Challenge

The Boingy Boing Challenge (sponsored by 1Drop designs)

The Walk The Dog Challenge

The F.A.S.T. Challenge (sponsored by YoYoFactory)
(a list of tricks to see who can complete them all in the shortest amount of time)

Anyone can have a single entry in each of the five challenge tables.

The Ladder Division

In this division, players will have a tricklist that they must complete as far as they can.  The person who goes the farthest on the ladder wins the competition.  A trick is deemed complete when all steps of the trick are completed successfully, and the yoyo is brought back to the hand with NO MORE than 3 inches of string between the finger and the yoyo.

The Freestyle Division

The Freestyle division is when the player comes up with a routine to their own music.  The routine shall be no more than 1 minute long, and the music can be any genre, but the lyrics MUST remain PG. (i.e. no foul language or content)  If the music is deemed “inappropriate,” the player shall be disqualified immediately.

Players may enter in both the Ladder and Freestyle competition.
